Eurostat, inflation on the rise: 1,6% in June

According to the European Institute of Statistics, inflation stood at 1,6% in June, up from 1,4% in May – especially the consumer prices of food and tobacco are on the increase.

Rising inflation in the Eurozone. In fact, according to data released by Eurostat, inflation in the 17 countries of the euro area in June stood at 1,6%, up from 1,4% in May and 1,2% in April, the lowest level in the last two years.

Again according to Eurostat, the consumer prices of food products and tobacco grew above all (+3,2% year-on-year). The prices of the energy sector (+1,6%) and services (+1,4%) also increased.
