In September alone, the prices of industrial production increased by 0,4% in the European Union and by 0,3% in the euro area. This was announced by Eurostat in an update document on price trends.
This is therefore the data on the variation from August to September, but the picture appears more gloomy if the data are compared to those of September 2010, compared to last year the prices of industrial production increased by 6,9% in the European Union ( 27 countries) and 5,8% in the euro area.
What continues to drive this growth is the cost of energy, which is 1,3% higher in the European Union and 1% higher in the euro area. The particularly high costs of some realities also weigh heavily, such as Hungary (+1,7% in September), Lithuania (+1%) and Great Britain (+1%).
Italy, on the other hand, is below the European average with an increase in industrial production prices of 0,2%.
