Europe, Uber promises 50 jobs

Uber returns to the fray. The controversial startup from San Francisco, which fights with taxi drivers and courts all over the world, is now trying to establish itself in Europe by captivating the authorities with one of the most convincing weapons currently. To be precise, according to administrator Travis Kalanick during the “Dld” conference on typing in Munich, promising to hire 50 workers this year through a "new partnership with cities".

After months of friction, which in various metropolises and cities have led to the banning of the search service for cars with drivers via smartphones and mobile devices, the Californian company is therefore trying to soften the situation, stating that it could become "a great generator of Work". The manager claimed that Uber has generated the equivalent of 7.500 full-time jobs in San Francisco, 13.750 in New York, 10.000 in London and 3.750 in Paris.

Created in 2010, Uber is opposed by taxi associations around the world who see it as a channel of direct competition that operates outside the compulsory licenses. Often it was these associations that initiated legal proceedings against the activity of the "app".

During the conference, Kalanick instead wanted to leverage on “how many unemployed people will be able to find in this network a way to live and take advantage of an economic opportunity. We want to make 2015 the year in which to establish a new partnership with European cities, to push towards progressive regulation and innovation – she said – while guaranteeing substantial economic benefits to cities and their economies ”.
