Juve play head-on but can't make it: in Lisbon the hosts Benfica win the first semi-final of the Europa League after taking the lead after just two minutes with the Argentine Garay who skilfully exploited an uncertainty in the defense black and white. In the first twenty minutes the Portuguese actually looked like Martians due to the speed and dangerousness of their actions. But the Italian champions had the patience to let them vent and to rebalance the balance on the pitch as the minutes went by.
In the second half, Tevez was released who hadn't scored in Europe for five years. The Argentine striker was the protagonist of an authentic feat with which Juve temporarily equalised. But towards the end Benfica returned to attack and found the winning goal with an unstoppable shot from Lima.
Europe, therefore, once again bitter for Juve who, however, having suffered a narrow defeat and above all having scored an away goal, can legitimately hope to reverse the situation in the return match in Turin, crowning their dream of going to the final. But it will take a great Juve who are now diving back into the championship finale to win the third consecutive championship.
