Europe, four-way summit with Italy, Spain, France and Germany by June

The four-party summit announced in Rome between Prime Minister Mario Monti, German Chancellor Angela Merkel, French President Francois Hollande and Spanish Prime Minister Mariano Rajoy will be held "after 17 June".

This was reported by government sources quoted by France Presse. The summit, according to the sources, will certainly be held after the elections in France and Greece.

From Palazzo Chigi they do not yet intend to communicate the exact date of the summit, but considering that the meeting will have to be held by 28 June - the date for which the European Council is set - and that Monti will be busy from 18 to 22 first at the G20 summit of Los Cabos (Mexico) and then in Rio de Janeiro for the Rio+20 UN Conference on Sustainable Development, it is reasonable to think that the quadrilateral will not be held before 23 June.
