Eurogroup: OK to Greece bridging loan, announcement tomorrow

An agreement in principle on the 7 billion euro bridging loan to Greece would have been reached by the Eurogroup which concluded its meeting by videoconference. However, it will only be officially announced tomorrow after the technical details have been completed and the green light for the third bailout plan for Athens has been voted in the Bundestag (and in the other Eurozone parliaments where ratification is required).

This was announced by the American agency Bloomberg reporting the statements of an EU official.

However, the agreement between the finance ministers of the Eurozone did not result in an official statement. For the use of European funds it is in fact necessary that the other European states that are not part of the euro area decide. The decision will be taken tomorrow morning by the 28-member European Council. Up to now, the United Kingdom and the Czech Republic have raised the greatest doubts. In the meantime, the Finnish parliament has approved the aid plan for Greece: Finance Minister Alexander Stubb tweeted it.
