Another recession for the Eurozone. In October the Eurocoin index – calculated by the Bank of Italy together with the CEPR study center – stood at the same level -0,29%, a slight improvement compared to -0,32% in September but still below the parity threshold. "The worsening of pessimism revealed by the surveys" has largely overshadowed "the positive contribution deriving from the recent trends in economic activity", write Bank of Italy and CEPR in a joint press release.
The Eurocoin provides a real-time synthetic estimate of the current economic situation in the euro area and expresses an indicative value of the quarterly growth rate of the GDP.
