THEEuro closes weak, but on the rise, at 1,2235 dollars and 96,36 yen. A low value, but clearly higher than the exchange rate of 1,2162 dollars reached on Friday, the minimum for two years. In comparison with the Sterling, on the other hand, the euro closed at 78,67 pence, at its lowest in 3 and a half years.

Great expectations, in the context of the currency market, for the hearing of Ben Bernanke, president of the Federal Reserve, who will speak tomorrow in front of the American Congress. On this occasion, Bernanke will provide important indications for understanding whether the US central bank intends to prepare new measures to stimulate the currency.
