Italians increasingly slaves to installments. According to the Eurispes report for 2013, 29% of consumers in our country have resorted to installment payments to make purchases. A road chosen above all to buy durable goods: household appliances (37%), cars (36,4%), computers and mobile phones (22,7%), furniture (23,5%). Furthermore, according to the research institute, it is "worrying" that 22,4% of Italians also resort to installments to support medical expenses.

ONE ITALIAN OUT OF THREE DOESN'T ARRIVE AT THE END OF THE MONTH

The report also shows that 30,8% of Italians are unable to make ends meet with their income. The regions most in difficulty are those of the South, where there is the highest concentration of those who are unable to meet their expenses (41,9% for the South) or are forced to use their savings (64% for the South and 58,9% for the Islands). Trying to save something is practically impossible for three out of four Italians (74,7%). On the side of the difficulties encountered in paying the installments of the mortgage or the rent for the house, in the first case an inconvenience is recorded which reaches 29,1% and in the second 26,8%.

THE PURCHASING POWER FALLS FOR 7 OUT OF 10 ITALIANS

Eurispes notes that 69,9% of Italians have noticed, over the course of the last year, a loss of their purchasing power (24,1% "a lot" and 45,8% "enough"). On the other hand, 25,1% experienced a minimal reduction in the ability to make purchases through their income. Furthermore, the loss of purchasing power and the economic crisis have led Italians to review their habits. If 84,3% reduce the resources allocated to gifts, 81% cut expenses for meals away from home and 75,3% favor the purchase of clothing products at cheaper points of sale such as department stores, flea markets , outlet. 82,9% wait for the sales to buy. To save money, 44% make online purchases or use public transport (40,9%) reducing car costs, especially petrol.

ITALY THAT KNOWS NO RECOVERY

88,1% of Italians believe that the country's economic condition has totally or partially worsened in the last 12 months, an increase of 8,1 percentage points compared to the analogous survey of 2013. Instead, it increases, confirming the trend since 2012 (3,9%), the share of those who believe that the situation has remained unchanged has gone from 7,5% in 2013 to 8,5% in 2014. Compared to the previous survey, both those who are confident economic recovery in the next 12 months (from 10,7% in 2013 to 8,2% in 2014) and skeptics (from 52,8% to 45,6%). The share of those who consider the future year substantially in line with the past one grew by 6,7 percentage points, going from 29,7% to 36,4%.
