Eures: 2 million jobs for young people, here's how

Finding work abroad. This is the main objective of Eures, the portal through which the young people of the European Union have the opportunity to find many professional opportunities in the various countries of the continent.

Eures is precisely a cooperation network created to facilitate the free movement of workers in the 28 EU countries, in addition to Switzerland, Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway.

According to the EU commissioner for employment, the Belgian Marianne Thyssen, it is "a valuable tool to combat youth unemployment and respond to the skills mismatch throughout Europe" or the mismatch between a worker's skills and those required by the labor market Work.

A few weeks ago, the EU Council gave the go-ahead for the reform of the European network of employment services 'Eures'. Among the main innovations, there is an automatic linking system between job offers and CVs entered on the platform, the participation of trade unions and private sector organizations in the initiatives, more job offers with more information and the contribution of the centers for public employment to provide the same offline information and support to non-web-savvy people.

How does EURES work?
By registering on the portal, interested parties will have the opportunity to consult thousands of job offers in the 28 countries of the European Union and receive online support in their own language from one of the 1.000 consultants who act as intermediaries between job seekers and employers .

The latter, in turn, have the possibility to consult the CVs present on the platform, choosing the profile plus confirmations of their requests. It should be emphasized that ad hoc economic funding is provided for workers who go abroad to carry out a job interview or take a language course necessary for employment.

The recent renewal has the aim of favoring the role of matching between job supply and demand, implementing information and services and giving subscribers the possibility of consulting updates in real time.

Eures: job opportunities
To date, the Eures portal has 1.171.187 job offers, 246.576 CVs, 6.298 employers and 1.050 consultants. The offers cover almost two million jobs as a single offer can be opened for multiple positions.

Going into detail, the greatest possibilities are currently present in Germany. Workers who want to find a job abroad have 503.266 job offers available. The United Kingdom follows with 181.532 offers, Belgium with 116.202, France with 113.433.
