The SMEs of Turin will be the first Italian industrial realities to enjoy the benefits of the SME4GREEN project. An initiative financed by the European Union which intends to push the Green New Deal at the territorial level of micro industries. The project is taking root in Romania, France, Finland, Germany, Sweden, Croatia, Austria, Denmark and Spain. The main aim is to create the most favorable conditions for i small entrepreneurs to become sustainable and digital in their productions. An aid to compete on the global market, where they need support but also certain times. By 2024, those who take part in it must have developed skills and methods with a low environmental impact. The perspective is that of the European green transition through agreements with the public authorities who have the task of facilitating small businesses. To facilitate everything in the Pemontese capital there will be Environment Park, Technology park specialized in environmental innovation.

The Program focuses on SMEs to attack the markets

From the point of view of the strength of SMEs, Italy is a symbolic country for its industrial structure made up of 206 thousand small companies that invoice more than 40% of the GDP. The the Mise in April it took charge of supporting 4500 small businesses in technological innovation. In Turin, all SMEs will be guided by experts who will guide industrialists in obtaining EU funding for the field of activity. The city will also be in close liaison with the Ilfov district near Bucharest which is closing the first green deal under the SME4GREEN. 5 SMEs will be supported in crowdfunding campaigns to reach markets with products born from circular economy processes. Another 10 will be accompanied by tutors towards digital and sustainable solutions for their products. They will have next experts from Amsterdam which in Europe boasts good performances of public-private green agreements. The European Commission is confident in the ability of the selected countries' SMEs to also assert a principle of innovative industrial communities. Not surprisingly to this day only 8 projects were selected to support Evidently we wait until 2024 to verify the results achieved.

Turin believes in the innovation of its small industry

The Municipality of Turin says it is ready to do its part and through the Councilor for the ecological and digital transition Chiara Foglietta he says he will support the city's businesses “by seeking agreements, promoting complementarity. Facilitating the adoption of green and digital solutions are essential steps for the revitalization of the local economy". Approaching the future by focusing on green investments, on the other hand, is the road to take back the manufacturing and services fabric that grew up in the shadow of big industry .For the facilitators of the Polo Environment Park the President Emanuela Barreri judges the SME4GREEN project for Turin's SMEs as a lever to "intensify the effects on the territory and on the people who are part of it". The Pole has Piedmontese institutions and utilities among its members and is already involved in energy and mobility, green chemistry, circular economy, use of hydrogen. They can be a good starting point for targeting 2024.
