Estra and Consiag acquire 10% of Bisenzio Ambiente

Estra and the shareholder Consiag – holder of 39,5% of the share capital of Estra – have acquired a 10% stake in Bisenzio Ambiente Srl, a company active in the special waste sector (respectively 5% of Estra and 5% of Consiag). The operation, which took place through a capital increase of Euro 77.000, provides for the overall acquisition of Bisenzio Ambiente by 2026 through a program of successive steps which will involve the progressive increase of the shares held by Estra.

Bisenzio Ambiente Srl is the owner of a pumpable liquid and sludge treatment plant for hazardous and non-hazardous special waste, located in the Municipality of Campi Bisenzio in the province of Florence. The entry into the share capital of Bisenzio Ambiente confirms the commitment of Estra and the shareholder Consiag, aimed at strengthening the Estra Group in the management of the waste cycle. The operation follows the recent acquisition of 15% of the share capital of ECOS, a company active in the special waste sector, of which the Group will acquire 100% of the share capital by 2023.

The Group's attention in the sector is also demonstrated by the previous acquisition of Ecolat concluded in 2019 and by the consequent entry into the shareholding structure of SEI Toscana, manager of environmental services in southern Tuscany. The plant, which came into operation in July, extends over covering an area of 5.000 square metres, it has an annual liquid waste treatment capacity of 186.000 tonnes/year (corresponding to 510 tonnes/day), while the total punctual storage capacity of incoming waste is equal to 1505 m3.

The plant is entirely enclosed in an industrial shed in order to reduce odor and noise emissions to a minimum, all tanks and vats are aspirated and the gases are conveyed to the gaseous emissions treatment plant. “With this operation – declares Paolo Abati, general manager of Estra – we strengthen the role of industrial partner in the management of services for our territories, ensuring capacity, administrative efficiency and adequate resources to guarantee standards of quality, safety and transparency. We place ourselves at the disposal of the territories in which we operate by restoring public governance in a very delicate service relating to the waste cycle such as the management of so-called special waste. This is an important operation that fits in continuity with the "green" objectives of environmental protection and sustainability that the Group sets itself."
