Espresso – Itedi: Agcom approves the merger

Based on the data published by Agcom, in 2016 the Espresso Group and Itedi produced 19,88% of the national circulations, a threshold slightly below the 20% set by the legislation which guarantees pluralism, thus avoiding forms of market concentration.

In detail, After the various sales carried out during the year, the Roman group and its subsidiary Finegil reached 13,52% of the total circulation at national level, to which must be added the 6,36% achieved by Itedi.

Agcom's go-ahead for the marriage comes after that of the Antitrust a few days ago, albeit linked to the sale to an independent third party of the advertising revenue on the local pages of the Genoa and Turin editions of the newspaper La Repubblica. At this point, the only thing missing is the convocation by the BoD of the extraordinary shareholders' meeting for the resolution of the capital increase reserved for the incorporation.
