Esodati, war of numbers: first the INPS says there are more than 390 thousand, but then backtracks

War of numbers on the exodus and INPS in the storm. The figure is contained in the Report that INPS sent to the Ministry of Labor before signing the decree which set the quota of the so-called "safeguarded" at 65, it says that there are over 390 but then the institute corrects itself and claims that they are 65 thousand.

Esodati, war of numbers: first the INPS says there are more than 390 thousand, but then backtracks

Other than the 65 thousand hypothesized for months by the Government: the number of redundancies is even higher than the estimate of the CGIL, which at the beginning of the controversy had spoken of 350 thousand workers. Today it turns out that this army counts at least 390.200 Guests. The data is contained in the Report that INPS sent to the Ministry of Labour before the signing of the decree which set the quota of the so-called "safeguarded" at 65, the only ones who will be allowed to retire with the old requirements in 2012 and 2013.

The text, signed by the general manager of INPS Mauro Noris and anticipated by Ansa, calculates the total number of exodus persons on the basis of the rules contained in the Salva Italia decree and the Milleproroghe, launched last winter.

The term "exodus" refers to those workers who have agreed to leave their jobs - by signing an agreement with the company - in the belief that they can retire within the next two years. With the pension reform by Elsa Fornero, however, those people no longer have the right to retire on time and thus risk finding themselves with nothing in hand: neither job nor pension.

The government's reaction is imaginable and, in fact, a few hours later the INPS makes a sensational about-face and assures that it has never provided different numbers from the past, namely that there are 65 expatriates. But, at this point, the omelette is done and the INPS's credibility receives a severe blow: was it wrong before or after?
