Esodati, Fornero: another 55 thousand to be "safeguarded"

The soap opera on the number of exodates continues. The latest episode is broadcast in the Chamber, where the Minister of Labour, Elsa Fornero, today reveals that the workers to be safeguarded beyond the 65 already covered by the decree could be "55". Among these, "40 thousand" would be those "in ordinary mobility as of December 31 and could fall under the status of safeguarded".

As for the tussle unleashed by the Inps document released by Ansa last week - in which there was even talk of 390 expatriates - the minister "strongly denies having provided untrue information on the workers concerned or having intended to remove data from public knowledge" .

Having given priority to a certain number of people who could soon find themselves without income, with the decree for the 65 expatriates, "does not mean having neglected the problem of others. The non-imminence of the problem concerning those who will retire from 2014 and the lack of financial resources for a budget that has already been put to the test led us to believe that the problem" of the other exodus persons could be tackled "in the following months, with equity and financial sustainability”.
