ESM: for Germany, the increase to 2.000 billion is unrealistic

The press rumors, collected by Der spiegel and published yesterday, about one strengthening of the permanent state-saving fund (ESM) which will allow for the collection of 2.000 billion euros, thanks also to the help of the private sector, find their first denials.

The German Ministry of Finance, in this regard, has in fact declared that any speculation on a precise amount is currently a “simple abstraction”, and that the figure of 2.000 billion is illusory, admitting, however, through the mouth of the spokesman Martin Kotthaus, that are underway in Brussels some serious assessments on raising the ESM's dowry, which should come into operation on October 500 with an availability of XNUMX billion euros.

Always Kotthaus then stated that Berlin is in favor of expanding the fund's endowment through the participation of the private sector, and he denied, on the other hand, that the federal executive has become aware, in the last few hours, of a further 20 billion hole in the Greek budget.
