First the Nexus One, then the Nexus S. Now, in collaboration with Samsung, the assault on the Apple iPhone: in honor of the two houses that produce it, Google's new smartphone will be called Galaxy Nexus which will challenge the indestructible "iPhone by Steve Jobs" on the telephony market.
Building on the worldwide success of Android, Samsung and Google therefore join forces to undermine Apple's leadership and launch the world's first smartphone equipped with the Android 4.0 operating system on the market Ice Cream Sandwich, the latest and most up-to-date version of the Android mobile platform.
The new jewel resulting from the alliance between two technology giants not only is it the first with a stunning 1280 x 720 pixel HD display, moreover in the splendor of the Super Amoled already seen on the Galaxy S2 (but with a screen diagonal increased to 4.65 inches), but above all it is the first device to present the new release of the green robot, the 4.0 called Ice Cream Sandwich. Which not only introduces "special effects" such as the "Face Unlock" system, the technology that uses facial recognition to unlock the phone.
Il Galaxy Nexus will arrive in Italy it would seem in November (or at the latest by Christmas) at the price of 599 euros. Like all Nexus will become one modding beast but this time it is a terminal that really stands out for its technical characteristics and for a design that has nothing to envy to the iPhone prototype.
But the pitfalls for Apple, that just yesterday it recorded a collapse in the stock market due to the balance sheet lower than expected, they don't just come from the award-winning company Google-Samsung. There is also Motorola (moreover in orbit Google) which has just relaunched its historic brand Razr: the new Droid Razr, which will be released worldwide in November (including Italy, hopefully) looks like the thinnest smartphone in the world with just 7.1 mm thickness (to give a yardstick the iPhone 4S, which certainly isn't thick, reaches 9,3 mm) and a super-strong Kevlar shell.
In short, Apple is now enjoying the 4 million iPhone 4S sold in the first marketing weekend, as well as a series of patent court victories against Samsung (and HTC). But the opponents are not watching and at least from a strictly technological-productive point of view, even if not yet in terms of image and sales, they manage to do just as well as the bitten Apple. The challenge continues.
