Ericsson towards closure of activities in Sweden: 3 thousand cuts

Ericsson intends to stop production in Sweden - where the group has been operating since 1876 -, cutting 3 jobs. The Swedish newspaper "Svenska Dagbladet" writes it, quoting an internal note from the Scandinavian telecommunications company which speaks of a plan to reduce costs by 3 billion crowns (313 million euros).

The group did not want to comment on the rumors: "In terms of personnel reduction - reads a note - we work country by country. Our employees and the unions are always informed first”.

Trade unionist Per Norlander, speaking on Swedish radio, specified that the figure of 3 cuts "is not the result of negotiations with the group". Furthermore, Norlander added, “it is not absolutely certain that activities in Sweden will be stopped”.

Meanwhile, Ericsson shares are up 1,55% on the Stockholm Stock Exchange.
