Erg: loss doubled in 2011, to 49 million euros

The negative net result is due to the narrowing of operating margins and the depreciation policy – ​​2012 should record a marked improvement given by the increase in volumes of Isab Energy.

Erg: loss doubled in 2011, to 49 million euros

Negative results for the energy group Erg. The Ligurian company closed 2011 with a net operating result of -49 million eurosmore than double the loss recorded in 2010 (20 million euro). In a note from the company we read that "the worsening of the result is mainly linked to the lower margin achieved and higher depreciation".

Il gross operating margin, representing only characteristic management, stood at 284 million euros, down from 305 million in 2010. “For 2012 we expect group results to improve markedly: the thermoelectric sector is expected to grow, in particular thanks to the increase in volumes of Isab Energy, in a context of favorable scenarios”.

With these words Alessandro Garrone, CEO of Erg, comments on the performance of the group during 2012. The Board of Directors approved the distribution of a dividend of 0,40 euro per share.
