Equitalia, shouldn't the folder be paid? Now just one click

Doesn't the folder have to be paid? One click is enough to fix the problem now. Equitalia has in fact activated it on its website www.gruppoequitalia.it a new telematic service, simple and fast, which allows citizens to send the request for the suspension of the collection from the comfort of their own computer. The online application is added to the other methods of presenting the application that are already operational: at the counter, by fax, by e-mail or by registered letter with return receipt. You can request the suspension of the collection directly from Equitalia in the event of cancellation of the debt by the creditor institution, of a payment already made or of a favorable sentence.

“Thanks to Equitalia the phenomenon of crazy folders is now relegated to the past - says Benedetto Mineo, managing director of Equitalia - In recent years we have managed to perfect our IT systems to avoid those "exceptional" situations that essentially occurred before birth of Equitalia, in which discrepancies were found between the data provided by the creditor institutions and what was reported in the files notified to the taxpayers. However, some problems can still occur when the institution provides Equitalia with incorrect or partial information, or when it fails to communicate any cancellations of the debt. To avoid inconvenience, we have expanded our assistance channels by intervening on these problems not attributable to our business and today it is possible to resolve the situation even from the home computer, without having to go to the counter".

Suspension of collection. Equitalia notifies citizens of payment notices on behalf of various entities. According to the law n. 228/2012 (Stability Law 2013), the citizen who deems the amounts requested by the creditor institution not due through any document notified by the collection agents (file, notice or precautionary/executive procedure deed) can contact Equitalia directly to request suspension of collection. A protection that had already been introduced in 2010 directly by Equitalia with a view to preventing taxpayers from going back and forth between public offices to have their reasons recognized. The suspension can be requested when the taxpayer has already paid the tax before the formation of the register (the list of debtors sent to Equitalia by the entities), has obtained a suspension from the entity or the judge, a favorable sentence or can demonstrate any other cause, provided for by the law, which makes the credit uncollectable. The application must be sent within 90 days of notification of the deed for which suspension is requested. Equitalia suspends all collection activities and sends all the documentation to the creditor institution which verifies the correctness of the documentation presented and communicates the outcome both to the tax payer and to Equitalia for the eventual cancellation of the file. If after 220 days of submitting the application the creditor institution does not provide feedback, the disputed sums are automatically cancelled.

The application can be submitted online. The new telematic channel is available on the website www.gruppoequitalia.it, without the need for registration and with a guided tour. Simply enter the "Suspend collection" box and enter your data and those of the deed for which you are applying in the appropriate online form. It is essential to attach all the documentation justifying the suspension request (for example payment receipt, copy of the sentence) and a copy of a valid identification document. Once the application has been sent and confirmed, you will receive a summary with the data entered. All information is available on the website where a short guide is also published illustrating what to do and in which cases you can ask Equitalia directly to suspend the collection.
