Consolidation continues in the renewables sector. After the move of Enel Green Power, that has acquired two plants in Campania, is the turn of F2i. The company has signed a contract with the energy operator Veronagest for the sale to the Secondo Fondo F2i of one of the main Italian wind portfolios, consisting of 7 parks distributed between Sicily and Calabria with a total installed power of 282Mw.

With this operation, F2i "continues its growth strategy in the renewable sources sector - reads a note - with the aim of encouraging the training of specialized operators of significant size and capable of expressing significant managerial and financial efficiencies".

Veronagest's assets are added to those already held by the Secondo Fondo F2i in the wind sector, which include 70% of the E2i company (about 600 MW installed and 165 MW under construction) and a 16% stake in Alerion. With a plant endowment of more than about 1000 Mw, F2i thus becomes one of the main operators in the sector in Italy.

The strategy in the wind sector is accompanied by that in the photovoltaic sector where the Primo Fondo F2i is active through the company Ef Solare Italia which, held equally with the Enel Group, is already today the main national operator by size.
