The two new tablets presented by Olivetti will debut on the Italian market at the end of September: OliPad 7 and OliPad 110, with display sizes of 7 and 10 inches respectively. Olivetti's proposal therefore continues in the tablet sector: the new models will be sold at the main consumer electronics chains of large-scale distribution, in addition to the traditional sales channels of Olivetti and Telecom Italia. Furthermore, an absolute novelty, they can also be purchased online from 12 September through the new shop on Facebook accessible from the Olivetti Fan Page
Among the technical characteristics integrated into the Olivetti OliPad 7 (codename Smart), it should be noted the presence of a 3630 GHz TI OMAP 1 processor, 512 MB of RAM, 8 GB of internal memory and a slot for reading microSD cards . The screen, with a 7-inch diagonal, will be of the capacitive touchscreen type, with a resolution of 800×480 pixels.
As for connectivity, the device integrates WiFi, Bluetooth and a 3G module for Internet access. Also provided for the endowment of two cameras: a 3 megapixel rear and a second 0,3 megapixel front lens for video calls.
The list of specifications is completed by an accelerometer, in addition to the GPS module for navigation and geolocation services. The overall dimensions are equal to 197x119x13,4 mm, while the weight is around 470 grams. The choice of operating system fell on Android 2.2 Froyo and it is unlikely that an update to the most recent platforms will be made available in the future. The sale price was set at 299 euros.
The Olivetti OliPad 110 is equipped with Android Honeycomb, a 10-inch display with IPS technology, multitouch and 1280×800 pixel resolution, 16 GB internal memory, 1 GHz processor, 1 GB RAM, slot for reading microSD (up to 32 GB), 3G, WiFi and Bluetooth modules, 5 and 2 megapixel cameras, micro-USB port and HDMI video output. The tablet will be available at a cost of 449 euros.
