Enrico Letta, Monday Lectio magistralis at the Sioi on Italy and foreign investments

Former premier Enrico Letta returns to the public scene on Monday 26 January (12 noon, Piazza San Marco 51, Rome) with a Lectio magistralis at Sioi, the non-profit organization that trains future diplomats, on the "Role of Italy and its ability to attract investments in the Mediterranean scenario and in relations with Russia” – Introduced by Franco Frattini

Since he was forced to leave Palazzo Chigi last year, former premier Enrico Letta has avoided the limelight and carved out a role for himself as a scholar, lecturer and observer of the European and international political scene.

However, on Monday Letta will be back on the field with a Lectio Magistralis in Rome at Sioi, the non-profit organization that trains future diplomats, (Piazza San Marco 51, 12pm) on a theme that has always interested him: "The role of Italy and its ability to attract investments in the Mediterranean scenario and in relations with Russia". A highly topical issue due both to the complex problems currently affecting the Mediterranean and Russia and to the effect of the devaluation of the euro fueled by the ECB and the collapse in oil prices which may open up new scenarios.

Enrico Letta's prudence is well known but the public's attention will also be focused on understanding his political judgments on how Italy under Renzi's leadership is behaving in the difficult task of attracting new foreign investments.

Letta's conference will be introduced by the president of Sioi and former foreign minister, Franco Frattini
