Even Rome enters the era of scooter sharing. As announced in March, Enjoy also launches in the capital the service that shares the Piaggio MP3 three-wheeled scooters, created in partnership with the Piaggio Group and Trenitalia. The presentation took place this morning, in the Congress hall of Palazzo Mattei, in the presence of Eni's R&M and Chemicals Sales Director, Paolo Grossi, the Head of Strategic Innovation of the Piaggio Group, Luca Sacchi and Ernesto Sicilia of Trenitalia.

The fleet available to Roman citizens will include 300 Piaggio MP3 three-wheeled scooters (300LT Business ABS version). The vehicles, designed and developed in close collaboration between Eni and the Piaggio Group for specific use in sharing mode, guarantee safety, ease of use and simple management of the vehicle: maximum speed limited to 90km/h, supplied with two helmets seats under the saddle and disposable hygienic caps.

Enjoy MP3s can be driven with an Italian category A and B license (from 21 years of age for A and B licenses, A2 license and 21 years of age if obtained before 19 January 2013) and with foreign licenses recognized by the Enjoy service. New users can register via the app or on the enjoy.eni.com website, while existing users will only need to update their profile to enable the new service. In both cases, to complete the procedure, it will be necessary to complete a video tutorial with the information necessary for the correct use of the scooter.

The red MP3s have a rate of €0,35/min and can be released at the end of use in any space allowed within the coverage area of 52 sq km concentrated in the central area of the city so as to increase the availability of vehicles in areas with the greatest demand, simplifying travel and parking and relieving traffic congestion.

Parking is free in the stalls reserved for scooters within the Municipality of Rome and in the dedicated areas at the city's Eni Stations. Another novelty for Capitoline users will be the absence of an on-board computer under the saddle: the use of the scooter will in fact be managed, for the first time, entirely via the app: from booking, to unlocking by entering the pin and up to the end of the rental.

Over time, this technological update will affect all vehicles in the Enjoy fleet, in all cities where the service is active (Milan, Turin, Florence and from 13 June Catania). With the arrival of the 300 Piaggio MP3s, the Enjoy fleet of cars increases to a total of 900 vehicles, which further expand the possibilities for Romans, city users and users with foreign driving licenses to choose forms of sustainable and shared mobility in the Capital.

To date, two and a half years after the start of the service, Milan, Rome, Florence and Turin have totaled more than 470 subscribers and 7 rentals. Finally, to request assistance, users have a dedicated toll-free number available, open 700 hours a day, 24. To discover new services and other partnerships, as well as share images, suggestions and experiences in real time, you can use the Enjoy social profiles on Facebook and Twitter. See you on board!
