Eni wins the tender for LNG supply in Pakistan

The contract will last 15 years

Eni has been awarded, following an international tender, the supply of liquefied natural gas (LNG) to Pakistan. Eni will supply the Pakistan LNG state-owned company with one load a month for the next 15 years, for a total of 180 loads, corresponding to a quantity of over 11 million tons of LNG. The volumes of LNG that will be sold each year by Eni correspond to 25% of Pakistan's total LNG imports in 2016. Pakistan is one of the fastest growing LNG markets in the world

LNG will meet Pakistan's growing energy needs, allowing Eni to further consolidate its presence in the country, where it has held a leadership position in the production of domestic natural gas for years.

The LNG of the new contract will largely come from the Indonesian Jangkrik field, which will go into production in less than two months and will also supply the Chinese market. The LNG will be delivered to a new floating storage and regasification unit moored at Port Qasim in Pakistan

LNG is confirmed as an integral part of Eni's strategy, which recently signed an agreement with BP for the sale, for a period of over twenty years, of the volumes of LNG produced by the Coral South floating plant in Mozambique.
