Eni will also sell electricity in France

Eni Gas and Power France, which already sells gas in France, has also announced its entry into the private electricity market. The Eni group company has a portfolio of 700 customers and is aiming for more than one million by combining gas and electricity between now and the end of the year and more than two million in 2020, according to the plans presented by general manager Daniel Fava during a Press conference.

The volume of business will double to 2,4 billion over the horizon of the plan, compared to 2016. "For us, the electricity market is a growth accelerator, a market three times bigger" than the gas one, said Fava , “with enormous development potential”.

According to the Commission that regulates energy in France (CRE), about 86% of the 32 million private electricity subscribers were EDF customers at the end of 2016. Eni already supplies electricity to businesses and communities in France and has held, since November 2016, 1.500 customers.
