Eni, Scaroni meets Iraqi premier in Baghdad

Iraqi Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki and Eni's CEO, Paolo Scaroni, accompanied by Eni E&P director general, Claudio Descalzi, met today in Baghdad to discuss the development of the super giant Zubair oil field in the center of the country .

During the meeting, Scaroni illustrated all the aspects relating to the development of the field. The number one of the 'six-legged dog' also announced that the company will participate in the fourth bid round and in the tender for the development of the Nassirya field.

Nuri al-Maliki declared himself satisfied with the activity carried out by Eni in Iraq and hoped for a greater presence of the company in the country. Eni is the operator of Zubair, considered one of Iraq's largest oil fields. When fully operational, Zubair will reach a production of 1,2 million barrels of oil equivalent per day.
