Libyan Prime Minister Ali Zidan and Eni's Chief Executive Officer Paolo Scaroni met today in Rome to take stock of Eni's activities in Libya and the country's energy sector. During the meeting, Prime Minister Ali Zidan underlined the importance of Eni's historical presence in the country, highlighting how the company currently contributes half of Libya's entire production, while ensuring the generation of electricity for local use.

Paolo Scaroni reiterated to the Prime Minister the importance of Libya as a source of guarantee of gas supply for Italy and as a strategic area for Eni's activities, hoping that the country will continue on its path towards stability and security. Eni has been present in Libya since 1959 and is the leading international hydrocarbon operator in the country, with a current production of around 230 barrels of oil equivalent per day.
