Eni and Politecnico di Milano have renewed until 2018 the collaboration agreement aimed at frontier research. Claudio Descalzi, CEO of Eni, and Giovanni Azzone, Rector of the Milan Polytechnic, today signed a Memorandum of Understanding on strategic study and research issues that will be addressed jointly in the coming years.
The framework agreement confirms the collaboration in place since 2008 and born to support, according to criteria of economic, environmental and social sustainability, the frontier innovations of processes and technologies in the Oil & Gas sector.
With today's signing of the Memorandum of Understanding, the collaboration is now being strengthened and directed towards further strategic issues for Eni's innovation starting from the development and implementation of initiatives in the field of renewable energies, natural gas, access to energy, capture and sequestration of CO2 and more generally of the best technologies to respond to the problems of climate change.
Eni and the Milan Polytechnic will also evaluate international projects as well, and with particular regard to Africa, in the context of university and post-graduate training, identifying opportunities for the development and updating of local skills in the field of hydrocarbons and energy.
