Eni restarts gas pipeline in Libya and reaches agreement for Vinyls plant in Ravenna

Eni and the Libyan oil company Noc today restarted the Greenstream pipeline, which connects the Mellitah plant in western Libya with Gela. The structure had been closed on February 22, following the speeches that broke out during the riots against Gaddafi.

The next objective is the reactivation, in November, of gas production in the Sabrath offshore platform, located 110 kilometers off the Libyan coast, in the Bahr Essalam field. The resumption of production will lead to a progressive increase in the volumes available.

Also today, Eni reached an agreement with Industrie Generali Samarate (IGS) to restart the Vinyls plant in Ravenna. The agreement arrived during a meeting at the Ministry of Economic Development and foresees that the companies headed by Eni and Egs agree on the supplies of the utilities necessary to guarantee the start-up of the new industrial project. On the Stock Exchange, despite the negative day that characterized Piazza Affari, Eni contained its losses with -0,99%.
