Eni loses the A of S&P, a title down on the Stock Exchange

The American rating agency has cut Eni's rating to Bbb+ for the first time, with a stable outlook: this news, together with the drop in oil below $40 a barrel, is penalizing the six-legged dog on the markets.

The title suffers Eni in the middle of the day in Piazza Affari: on an already negative day for the Ftse Mib, it lost more than the market (-2,3% at 12), reaching 13,16 euros per share. There are mainly two reasons: the price of oil, after last week's sharp rebound, has returned to falling below 40 dollars a barrel (39.59 for Brent, 38.81 for Wti). But above all came the rating cut by Standard & Poor's, which for the first time in history reduced its opinion on Eni from A- to Bbb+, with a stable outlook (previously it was "credit watch"). However, the US rating agency confirmed the short-term rating at A-2.

Eni commented on the news as follows: "The decision appears to have been taken mainly following the lowering of the oil price scenario assumed by the agency for its assessments". The weak trend in MY BAG however, it is shared by the entire energy sector: Saipem it is among the worst stocks at the end of the morning with -4%, Tenaris is also bad (-2,9%), only Snam is saved.
