Eni will invest eight billion in Italy

Eni will invest 8 billion euros in Italy. This was announced a few days ago by the CEO of the Italian energy group, Paolo Scaroni, on the occasion of the presentation of the company's new institutional campaign (“let's give energy a new energy”, a spot in which the actor Toni Servillo, strongly wanted by Stefano Lucchini, president of Eni USA and director of External and International Relations of Eni, is the narrator): “This is a new campaign, because today we are talking about how Eni is made. Over the years, I have realized that our fellow citizens do not always know what our company is like. There are three main things: we are much more international than people think, we are a company that attaches great importance to sustainability and then we invest heavily in research, especially in renewable ones that will truly be the answer to the planet's problems”.

"When I hear that Fiat does not invest in Italy, I think this is a problem for the country", Scaroni then said, reiterating that "Eni will invest 4 billion euros in Italy over the next 8 years: in refining, petrochemicals and even some ' in the exploration sector”. And this, he added, "means that we continue to believe in our country". However, Scaroni's declarations created a small diplomatic incident given that Fiat, a few hours later, issued a note in which it replied by stating that "the declarations of Eni's managing director, Paolo Scaroni, demonstrate that evidently it is not for nothing informed about how much Fiat is investing and will invest in the near future in Italy”. A question and answer that ended with a new sentence from Scaroni, who clarified the meaning of his first statement: “It's good that Fiat invests, as Eni does, in Italy. It's a good sign for the country."
