Eni enters the photovoltaic sector in Greece

Eni has acquired the Greek company Solar Konzept Greece (Skgr) from Solar Konzept International. The operation was completed through Eni gas e luce, a subsidiary of the six-legged dog which will soon be renamed “Plenitude”.

In turn, Solar Konzept International is controlled by Aquila Capital, a sustainable investment and asset development company, based in Hamburg, Germany.

Skgr, according to a note from Eni, owns a platform for the development of photovoltaic plants in Greece and its plant portfolio includes a pipeline of projects of approximately 800 MW, which will form the basis for the further development of the portfolio of renewables in the country.

Eni gas and light, recalls the note, has been present in the Greek retail energy market since 2000 and currently has around 500 customers. The operation represents Eni's entry into the Greek renewables market and is part of the growth plan and related integration with the retail business.
