Eni and Sonatrach renew gas supply contract until 2027

Agreement on gas between Eni and Sonatrach who have signed an agreement which establishes the renewal of the supply contract for the import of Algerian gas into Italy. The new agreement will be valid until 2027, with two additional optional years.

Through this contract, which covers approximately 15% of gas imports in our country, the two companies also define the agreement relating to the transport of gas via the pipeline that crosses the Mediterranean Sea.

“These agreements mark another fundamental step in the path of a historic partnership in the supply and transport of gas that dates back over 40 years, and which includes major gas pipeline projects and decades of guaranteed supplies to Italy”, reads the note from Eni.

The managing director of the six-legged dog, Claudio Descalzi, declared: “I am very satisfied with the agreements reached and with the level of strategic collaboration that we have reached with Sonatrach, which goes from the exploration and production sector, to the transportation and marketing of gas, to renewables”.

In Piazza Affari, Eni shares gain 0,6% to 14,608 euros.
