Eni has also managed to enter the group of companies that have passed the step of the first post-sanctions tender in Iran to obtain important concessions. In recent days, the group has signed a agreement soon, but now focuses on contracts of a much different scope. This was reported by press reports even if the NIOC (National Iranian oil company) has not yet officially published the list of selected operators.

According to rumors, 50 companies are already moving to the second step, that of creating consortia between the various groups and which also necessarily requires the presence of a local operator. The prize up for grabs is very rich since Iran counts on attracting investments of 200 billion dollars from its oil and gas projects, with the aim of bringing production to 4,7-5 million barrels a day in ten years. In particular, the South Azadegan field has reserves of 5 billion. Eni today gains 0,66% to 15,27 euros.

Also today is the news that the Milan prosecutor's office has closed the investigation into the Eni-Nigeria case against 11 natural persons and 2 companies concerning the charge of international corruption. Among the recipients of the notice of conclusion of the investigation are the current CEO of Eni, Claudio Descalzi, his predecessor Paolo Scaroni and the businessman Luigi Bisignani. The two companies under investigation are Eni and Shell.
