Eni: bond in dollars and agreement with Enea

Enea and Eni have signed a preliminary agreement which paves the way for a collaboration in the field of research on magnetic confinement fusion.

The agreement, the two companies explain in a joint note, "provides for the possibility of collaborating, through the establishment of a special company, in the implementation and management of the project Divertor Tokamak Test (DTT), the scientific-technological hub under construction at the ENEA center in Frascati. The DTT is proposed as a new experimental machine to test different solutions and provide scientific and technological answers to some peculiar aspects of the fusion process, such as for example the management of very high temperatures".

Remaining on Eni, the company led by Claudio Descalzi announces that it has mandated BofA Merrill Lynch, Citigroup, Goldman Sachs & Co. LLC, HSBC, JP Morgan, Morgan Stanley and Wells Fargo Securities as Joint Bookrunners for the organization the placement of a fixed-rate bond issue in US dollars "which is expected to consist of a single tranche with a 10-year term".

Eni recalls that the issue "takes place in execution of what was resolved by its board of directors on April 4 and will serve to maintain a balanced financial structure in relation to the short and medium-long term debt ratio".

The issue of the loan, intended for institutional investors, concludes Eni, will depend on market conditions.
