Eni accelerates: the production test in Congo in Minsala exceeds expectations

Positive results for the production test conducted by Eni on the Minsala Marine 1 exploration well, located offshore Congo, in Block Marine XII, about 35 kilometers from the coast and 12 kilometers from the recent Nené Marine discovery. The test was performed on 37 meters of the 420 meters of hydrocarbon column identified during the discovery phase, and the well spontaneously delivered over 5.000 barrels of oil and 400.000 cubic meters of gas per day.

The preliminary estimate speaks of approximately 1 billion barrels of oil equivalent in place, of which 80% is oil. Meanwhile, the company has already drawn up the discovery delineation plan.

Satisfied Claudio Descalzi, CEO of the Italian company: "The results of the production test have exceeded expectations and have provided us with the technical elements to plan a rapid commercial development of the important discovery of Minsala Marine similarly to what has already been achieved with that Nenè Marine"

"Eni - reads the note released by the group - for four years has been conducting an important exploration activity on Presaline geological themes in the shallow waters of West Africa, achieving excellent results: in the area the company has already discovered almost 4 billion of barrels of oil equivalent in place, between Congo and Gabon".

"In the Marine XII permit, in particular - explains ENI - three discoveries were made (Minsala; Marine, Litchjendily Marine and Nene' Marine), all located in conventional waters and close to already existing infrastructures, and which for this reason can be brought into production very quickly and at competitive costs”.
