Engineering: first sustainability report published

Engineering has published its first Sustainability Report. The company, an Italian leader in the IT sector, has decided to launch this public reporting process in the wake of the belief that the best economic development results of the company cannot be achieved without strict observance of sustainability issues, from policies for its employees to contribute to the improvement of the collective life of citizens.

The Group's Sustainability Report was drawn up according to the accounting standards of the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), standard GRI-G3.1, and has already obtained the certification of compliance by the same GRI according to application level C. Next year is preparing to be drawn up on the basis of the new GRI-4.1 accounting principles.

The CEO of Engineering Paolo Pandozy explains what this choice is: "With this first reporting of our policies and actions seen from the perspective of their social and sustainability impact, we wanted to start a path of further transparency and openness towards all our stakeholders. It is a result of which we are proud, but which we consider a commitment to progress along this path of consistency and attention to corporate social responsibility issues".

In addition to the data, projects and services provided in 2013 to the communities and organizations with and for which Engineering worked, the Sustainability Report also reports all the economic data with particular attention to the value distributed to the various stakeholders of the Group: a production value equal to 822,8 million euros, a direct economic value generated of 825,6 million euros, a direct economic value distributed of 766 million euros.
