Renewable energy: Trento first for housing incentives

The province of Trento increases the budget for energy requalification: 9,90 million euros to support mortgages for ten years. Virtuous example for all of Italy – The government is currently studying an extension of the national eco-bonuses to 2021

Renewable energy: Trento first for housing incentives

The Province of Trento climbs the national ranking for the energy requalification of homes. The 3,1 million euro tender in March set in motion an economic system on renewables that can be taken as a model. While in the other Regions progress is taking place slowly and the government has not yet clearly stated what it intends to do, despite what is written in the government contract. In Trentino (the regional elections will be held on 21 October) support has been given to quality housing projects and families, businesses and planners have asked for and received more money. All together to increase the amount of houses to be modernized. There were many applications and the initial provincial fund rose to 9,90 million euros. Money useful to support the interest on ten-year mortgages granted by the Province itself.

The qualitative leap towards renewables takes place shortly after Ossana, a municipality in the Val di Sole with 844 inhabitants, was awarded the "greenest village in Italy" by the magazine Weekend Premium. With the new economic endowment of the Province, private individuals will be able to submit applications until November 30th. 432 initiatives have already been financed but the number will grow and strengthen the leadership achieved by Trento with contributions distributed over ten years. A long and useful time to review energy systems, reconvert them, in an area with energy consumption among the highest in Italy. Spending is high and is affected by the slowness with which renovations are carried out. A theme that is also animating the current electoral campaign.

The aid granted so far has been 310 euros. With the new endowment, this rises to 680 by committing the budgets of the Province until 2028. The incentives are recognized on interventions actually carried out in synergy with the building industry which has also suffered heavy repercussions in these areas. The growing economic turnover is related to the regional energy dispute by technical professional associations. One of their studies has calculated that a condominium that consumes 170 kw per year per square meter with the encouraged restructuring can reach a consumption of less than 50 kw. A reduction in spending of a few thousand euros a year that other Italian provinces can take as a model for now.

On the subject of government bonuses for families, the commitment of 5 Stars and the League is stated in the government contract but there have been no concrete actions. There was the announcement by the President of the Senate Industry Commission Gianni Girotto (M9S) of the study of an extension to 5 December 31. He said this to the representatives of the Builders' Association, of Legambiente, of Assoimmobiliare during a conference at the Luiss where "The white paper on real estate taxation" was presented. The interested associations already expect something in the next budget law, but the scenario, as is known, is opaque. For now only Trento is ahead.
