Energy: agreement between Total and Petrobras

Total and Petrobras have signed a memorandum of understanding which provides for a strategic alliance aimed at enabling coverage of upstream and downstream activities in Brazil, as well as possible opportunities abroad. The first energies will be dedicated to the upstream and gas & power activities.

To date Petrobras and Total participate in 15 consortia in the world in the field of exploration and production, of which 9 in Brazil alone.

Precisely in the South American country, Petrobras is Total's partner in the development of the "giant" Libra field, while outside Brazil, the two multinationals collaborate in the Chinook field in the Gulf of Mexico, in the Akpo deep water field in Nigeria and in the San Alberto and San Antonio/Itau in Bolivia, as well as in the pipeline between Bolivia and Brazil.
