Electricity, consumption rises in February: +0,7%

According to data provided by Terna in February, the demand for electricity in Italy was 25,2 billion kWh - Almost half of the demand comes from the north of the country

In recovery i electricity consumption in Italy. After four months of minus sign, as noted by Terna, electricity required in February, equal to 25,2 billion kWh, recorded an increase in 0,7% year on year.

It was since the summer of 2012 that there was no increase in consumption monthly of electric energy compared to the previous year, except for the month of September 2014, which showed a slight increase (+0,4%), compared to a particularly low September figure in 2013 (-2,6%) and in 2012 (-8,3%).

Almost half of the electricity demand it came from northern Italy (46,1%) but it must also be said that in the north there was a lower demand for energy than in February 2013 (-0,9%). The increase in the demand for electricity from the South (+3,6%) is noteworthy.
