Energy, here is the 180 billion plan

The Government has four objectives: a 19% cut in greenhouse gas emissions compared to 1990; reduction of 15 billion euros per year in foreign energy bills; incidence of renewable energy on total consumption at 23%; -24% of primary consumption compared to the international trend.

Energy, here is the 180 billion plan

Between now and 2020, Italy will invest 180 billion in a new one energy plan. A sum to be divided between the green economy (renewables) and traditional tools (networks, regasification terminals, storage, hydrocarbon production). The main objectives will be four:

1) 19% cut in greenhouse gas emissions compared to 1990;

2) a reduction of 15 billion euros a year in foreign energy bills, with dependence on other countries falling from 82 to 65%;

3) incidence of renewable energy on total consumption at 23%;

4) -24% of primary consumption compared to the international trend.

As Il Sole 24 Ore explains today, a 100-page report on the "New National Energy Strategy" is now ready on the Government desk, which will be placed in public consultation by the Ministry of Economic Development.

GAS. In detail, as far as gas is concerned, the Executive aims to reduce the price differential with Northern European countries, which reached 25% last year, through the creation of a physical gas hub and a real Gas bag.

ELECTRICITY'. For electricity, on the other hand, plans are being made to go beyond the single national price, also rationalizing the concessions for specific customer segments.

HYDROCARBONS. The goal is to mobilize investments for 15 billion euros which allow for savings of 5 billion a year on the energy bill thanks to the reduction of imports.

ELECTRIC RENEWABLES. Approximately 50 billion euros of investments are planned between now and 2020.
