Energy and gas, Illumia purchases supply to SMEs from Electra

Illumia, a national operator active in the electricity and gas market, has signed a preliminary agreement for the acquisition of a business branch of Electra Italia relating to the supply of energy and gas to small and medium-sized enterprises and resellers.

Electra Italia is based in Milan but is part of the Swiss BKW group, which operates internationally in the energy and infrastructure sector. With this acquisition, Illumia strengthens its presence in the Lombard capital, where it is already present with the subsidiary Wekiwi, a fully digital energy and gas operator.

Illumia closed the first half of 2017 with a turnover of over 440 million euros (+30% compared to the same period of 2016) and a gross operating profit of 8,1 million euros (+7% year on year). The operation will have to be submitted to the scrutiny of the Antitrust for the final go-ahead.
