The first condominium champion of energy efficiency is in Milan. Thanks to a virtuous use of the eco-bonus and the incentives made available by the Municipality of Milan with the BE2 tender, an innovative redevelopment intervention will allow the building at number 10 in viale Murillo, in the Lombard capital, to obtain a reduction in energy consumption of 74% and an overall saving in bills of 80%, in addition to the reclamation and renovation of the entire building. The project, of absolute avant-garde at national level, was supported by Enel X, Teicos Group and Rockwool Italia, as well as promoted by the Legambiente Lombardia campaign "Efficient Condominiums", launched in 2018.
Composed of nine residential units divided into five floors, the condominium in viale Murillo, 10 it was in energy class G, with a consumption of 175kW/m2 per year and still heated with diesel. It presented important problems of infiltration on the roof and deterioration of the façade. The interventions focused on: restoration of the façade and external thermal insulation; renovation of the roof and thermal insulation; insulation of the rooms on the ground floor and of all the heated rooms. Finally, the heating system was replaced with a gas heat pump. These are interventions that have allowed the improvement of the energy class from G to C with an expected reduction in consumption of 74% equal to 48kW/sqm and a total enhancement of the property.
The mayor of Milan, Giuseppe Sala, was present at the inauguration of the renovated housing complex. the Italy manager of Enel X, Alessio Torelli, the CEO of Teicos Group, Cecilia Hugony, and the Business Unit Director of ROCKWOOL Italia, Paolo Migliavacca and the President of Legambiente Lombardia, Barbara Meggetto.
