Energy, consultation closed for Sen: requests boom

The future moves are now in the hands of the Government, called to identify technical choices and strategies that will weigh on the balance of payments, procurement and territorial energy policies

Energy, consultation closed for Sen: requests boom

The road to reform is going on rough terrain, but that of energy seems to have taken a good road.

The consultative phase of the new national Energy Strategy and the government, headed by the Minister of Economic Development Carlo calendacan be said to be satisfied. In just over 100 days, no company, region, authority or association has backed down. Not only. Never before has a much awaited and necessary reform collected such a quantity of opinions, studies, proposals, 700 specific contributions, 280 comments with 10 accesses to the dedicated site.

The Minister of the Environment Gian Luca Galletti, especially interested in the climatic implications, expresses satisfaction with the environmental sensitivity of the Italians. A good sign. The consultation started in June and thanks to the intervention of some parliamentarians of the Democratic Party it was extended until 12 September.

All things considered, this is a useful indication, given that 30% of proposals come from individual citizens and 25% from associations emerge from the analysis of the data. Not everyone waited for the postponement of the consultation terms, but they certainly had more time to better elaborate their ideas on Italy's future.

Something is left in the environmental offices. Some organizations need a more precise action plan with the annual reduction of CO2 emissions by 6%. And as early as next year. In a note, the Greens believe that the documents submitted for consultation do not indicate a precise decarbonization strategy for 2050.

A very delicate point, compared with the climate commitments signed by Italy together with 138 other countries and which cannot be "trumped". But most of it is done. What is left out can also be taken up by the government, in the implementation phase. This is, in fact, the next step to take. Tight decisions with the identification of technical and strategic choices, which will have repercussions on the balance of payments, supplies and territorial energy policies.

Without regional governors and mayors, no action will be effective, so get ready. The start times have not yet been indicated even if it is right to foresee a technical time to give substance to the actual strategy. Not too much, though.

Renewable companies, according to "Green Italy", are 385 thousand. Since 2010 they have been making investments in innovative technologies that place them among the first in Europe. Between direct and induced employment, they give work to three million people in search of certainty for the future.
