Enel, Terna, Snam and Tim in the DJ Sustainability World Index

Enel, Terna, Snam and Tim have been included in the Dow Jones Sustainability World Index, the most important global stock market index for assessing corporate social responsibility. In total, there are 7 Italian companies included in the Index.

Launched in 1999, the DJSI is one of the main global indices that evaluate the financial performance of the world's leading companies in the field of sustainability. In addition to DJSI World, Enel is also included in other important global sustainability indices, such as the FTSE4Good, the Euronext Vigeo Eiris indices, the STOXX Global ESG Leaders and the Carbon Disclosure Leadership Index.

Enel recorded a brilliant performance in the Environment category, with a score of 100/100 in Climate Strategy, Water-related Risks, Biodiversity and Environmental Reporting. The Group also obtained the maximum score in the segments Policy Influence, which measures transparency and the level of disclosure on advocacy activities, and Materiality, which refers to the company's ability to reconcile strategy with stakeholder expectations.

“We are proud that DJSI World once again recognizes our commitment to sustainability and, especially this year, our leadership in climate strategy, environmental initiatives, transparency and disclosure” commented the CEO and Director Enel general Francesco Starace. “Our presence in this prestigious index for the fourteenth consecutive year highlights the success of our efforts to include sustainability in long-term investment decisions and in our industrial strategy. The recognition we receive from DJSI also encourages us to further improve the Group's performance in the environmental, social and governance fields”

Terna, the company that manages the national electricity grid, is instead the first Italian company in the Electric Utilities sector according to the evaluations of RobecoSAM, which selects the best global companies in the field of sustainability for inclusion in the Dow Jones Sustainability index. Compared to last year, Terna has further improved its positioning in the Index, passing, with 89 points, from fifth to fourth place (out of 64 companies evaluated), thanks to the progress achieved in some important sustainability parameters.

“Terna's inclusion in the Dow Jones Sustainability Index again this year confirms Sustainability as a decisive aspect in the creation of value for our stakeholders – commented Terna's Chief Executive Officer, Luigi Ferraris. We believe that Sustainability is essential to combine the objectives of minimum environmental impact and cost reduction for the system as key elements of our investments for the country".

As far as Snam is concerned, the results are confirmed to be very positive: 82 points (runners-up, best performer 86 pts) with a 93 percentile. In particular, underlines the note issued by the company, the company stood out for its excellent performance in the environment area, with a score of 91 points (100 percentile).

Snam is also present in other of the most important global sustainability indices, including the FTSE4Good, the CDP, the various ECPI, MSCI, Stoxx Global, Vigeo and Ethibel indices, as well as Oekom and the United Nations Global Compact 100.

Finally, Tim is confirmed for the fourteenth consecutive year in the Dow Jones Sustainability Indices World and Europe. “The annual review for admission to the Dow Jones Sustainability Indexes – explains the company – takes place following a rigorous company evaluation process carried out by specialized rating agencies”. For this reason, the note continues, "this is an important acknowledgment that confirms the Group's commitment to integrating sustainability within the corporate strategy".

Tim's presence in the Dow Jones Sustainability Indices complements the Group's participation in other major global sustainability indices and rating systems, such as the FTSE4Good index series and Euronext Vigeo Eiris”.
