Enel strengthens corporate welfare: more support for parents, grandparents and caregivers

Enel has updated its package of measures to support the parenthood and work-life balance, introducing innovations designed to meet the needs of parents, grandparents and caregivers. After signing a agreement with Filctem unions, Flaei and Uiltec, the group has enriched its corporate welfare, improving the measures provided by law to promote a better balance between career and family life.

Leave and Permissions: More Time for Family

One of the main ones news it concerns the extension of paternity leave: Enel fathers will have 20 additional days to the 10 provided by law. Even the allowance for parental leave I am enhanced: the remuneration will be equal to 90% for the mother or father, alternatively, up to the sixth year of the child's life, in periods in which the law provides for an 80% benefit. For the following months, up to the twelfth year of the child's life, the benefit will drop to 60%, while for a further 3 months (which can be used alternatively between the parents) it will be 45%.

The agreement also provides for paid leave for important family events, such as the entry of children to nursery school or kindergarten, as well as for graduation or high school diploma. In addition, parents who accompany their child to the first day of primary school will be able to take advantage of an hourly leave that postpones the start of the working day until 11.00:XNUMX. One day of paid leave per year will also be granted to grandparents on the occasion of the birth of a grandchild.

Attention to caregivers and extra leave for emergencies

As regards the caregiver, 2 days of paid leave per year are provided for assistance to elderly parents, for those employees who do not benefit from the benefits of Law 104. The agreement also provides an extension of permissions for bereavement and serious illness, which increases to 5 days of paid leave per year (2 days more than the law), for the death, serious illness, hospitalization or surgery of first-degree relatives such as parents-in-law and mothers-in-law, as well as relatives within the second degree of kinship or cohabitant. Finally, for children between 3 and 12 years of age, Enel has provided 10 days of unpaid leave per year in the event of illness.
