Enel promotes diversity and inclusion through 13 projects: over 4.000 participants involved

Enel it started well 13 projects dedicated to diversity and inclusion, which have so far involved over 4.000 employees in Italy, as reported by Il Sole 24 Ore. From psycho-social support initiatives for dependent parents with children with special needs, to ad hoc courses for over 45s looking for new skills. From webinars that focus on inclusive and accessible communication, to activities dedicated to promoting gender equality, such as female empowerment and financial education programs for women. And again, the role modeling sessions conducted by the company's women in primary and secondary schools to introduce girls to STEM disciplines (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics).

The wide and varied range of training and well-being opportunities offered by the energy giant aims to promote a corporate culture based on inclusion and respect for individual diversity, breaking down stereotypes that can limit personal and professional growth and development.

Diversity and inclusion: Enel's initiatives

Among the initiatives, for example, "Ability parent care“, the support program for parents of children with specific learning disabilities (DSA), attention deficit (ADHD), motor or sensory disabilities or neurodiversity. These parents have the opportunity to participate for free in listening and sharing sessions led by qualified experts, a moment to face together the daily challenges related to managing disability.

In pursuing the objective of challenging all forms of age discrimination, Enel has launched “Re-Generation“, in collaboration with the UNINETTUNO Telematic University. An initiative that opens the doors to employees over 45 so that they can access short, high-level university courses free of charge, thus enriching their professional background.

The company has also created free courses on inclusive communication, gender intersectionality and other related topics, to break down those stereotypes that can hinder relationships and work dynamics. Furthermore, it has extended parental leave policies to same-parent couples in civil unions, thus expanding and improving its internal regulations.

Then there are the initiatives "upskilling 4"and "Healthy work 2.0” which aim to enhance employees with cognitive or behavioral disabilities by offering online courses to enhance their IT and professional skills.

All initiatives that enhance diversity, a precious resource, capable of fueling innovation and encouraging everyone's growth.
