Enel over 5 euros after 9 years

The proof will be today on a stock market day on which the Korean crisis casts bearish shadows but Enel hit its target yesterday by closing trading in Piazza Affari at 5,01 euros. It had been 9 years since Enel had not exceeded the psychological threshold of 5 euros per share.

Yesterday's success rewards the good management of the team led by Francesco Starace who gave Enel a strategy already projected towards the future, focused on renewables and internationalisation, and with Open Fiber's wildcard for the development of ultra-broadband which is creating quite a few headaches for Telecom Italia.

But Enel's stock market performance is also the result of the drop in the cost of money and the sustainability of the debt accrued in the past with international acquisitions and above all with that of the Spanish Endesa.
