Enel, new name for the enhanced protection service

From 1 January 2017, Enel Servizio Elettrico, the Enel Group company that operates in Italy under the "Enhanced Protection Service" for electricity, changes its name to the National Electric Service. The change responds to the obligation established by Resolution 296/2015/R/COM of the Authority for electricity, gas and the water system which imposes on all companies of energy groups, which operate both in the free market and in the greater protection, to have a distinct company name and brand.

The new name Servizio Elettrico Nazionale is reported in all company communications, on the web portal and on bills starting from 1 January 2017. From 1 January 2017, therefore, the bill remains the same, only the header changes which bears the name of the National Electricity Service; it is, in fact, the same company of the Enel Group that manages the enhanced protection service for electricity. The name changes but not the membership of the Enel Group, specifies a press release from the company.

The information present in the contracts, in the economic conditions and in the forms remain the same, as well as the toll-free number (800 900 800) and the other contact channels. Instead, the website called servizioelettriconazionale.it has changed. Bill payments can be made according to the current methods. Bank and/or postal current accounts can be used, in an initial transitional phase, even if held in the name of Enel Servizio Elettrico. In case of domiciliation it is not necessary to give any communication to the bank or to Poste Italiane.
